e. Gender equality. On the occasion of  Women Equality Day, the Department of Home Science organized a guest lecture by Dr. Reena Bishnoi, Presiding officer Internal Complaint Committee and Chairperson, Responsibilities foremost, rights later, SVSU, Meerut. It was an effort to commemorate a pivotal moment in the journey towards a more just and equitable world – Women’s Equality Day, a day that resonates with the spirit of progress, a celebration of the indomitable strength and resilience that women have displayed throughout history. The program started with an introductory speech by Ms. Urvashi Sharma informing the students about the day and how it came into existence, further, she introduced the esteemed guest to the audience. HOD Home Science Dr. Nishma Singh welcomed the guest by presenting her a planter as a token of gratitude. The esteemed guest then enlightened the students with her soul-awakening and thought-provoking lecture where she talked about equality, equity, gender disparity, and the need for gender equality.

She emphasized why we need to celebrate this day and how International and National organizations are making efforts to provide equality to women.

This was indeed a well-woven guest lecture that sensitized the students, faculty, and non-teaching staff about rights and equality for women. It was a joint effort of all the faculty members of the department that was executed well by Ms. Virender Pal Kaur under the guidance of the Head of the Department, Dr. Nishma Singh.
