The Subharti Disability Advisory Service Centre at Subharti University hosted an Inclusive Paper Bag Making Competition on 12-08-2025 for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) students and staff, combining the spirit of creativity with the message of environmental sustainability. The event aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of plastic and to encourage the use of eco-friendly alternatives.
The competition began with the Lamp Lightening by Lt. Prof. Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Dean Faculty of Education; Prof. Dr. Indira Singh, Head Education Department; Mrs. Dipika Choudhary Coordinator SDASC and members of the SDASC Committee. Lt. Prof. Dr. Sandeep Kumar praised the participants for their enthusiasm and emphasized that such activities not only promote environmental awareness but also build confidence and inclusivity within the campus community.
Armed with colored papers, decorative items, and creative ideas, participants had a set time to craft their paper bags. Judging was based on creativity, neatness, and usability of the bags. The judging panel included Prof. Dr. Anoj Raj and Associate Prof. Dr. Manju Adhikari, who appreciated the high standard of work and innovative designs.
The event was successfully organized by Ms. Dipika Choudhary, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Subharti Disability Advisory Service Centre (SDASC). The program concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where Lt. Prof. Dr. Sandeep Kumar and judges honored the top three winners:
- First Prize:Mr. Sanjeev Kumar from Subharti Nursing College
- Second Prize:Ms. Farha Ansari from Subharti Disability Advisory Service Centre
- Third Prize:Mr. Deepak Sumaniya from Subharti Nursing College
The competition left a lasting impression by combining skill-building with environmental responsibility, proving that creativity knows no boundaries when given the right platform
