Webinar on “Rural Development and Micro Enterprises” Organized at Subharti University
Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Subharti Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, in collaboration with the Department of Languages of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized a webinar on the theme “Rural Development and Micro Enterprises” on March 9, 2026. The program was conducted under the aegis of the Institution’s Innovation Council with the aim of sensitizing students about the role of entrepreneurship in strengthening rural economies.
The webinar featured Shri Nitesh Bhardwaj, Founder and CEO of Ulgulan for Social Change Foundation, Nandurbar, Maharashtra, as the resource person. During his address, Mr. Bhardwaj highlighted the significant role of micro enterprises in generating employment opportunities and strengthening the rural economy. He explained that small-scale entrepreneurial initiatives can provide sustainable livelihoods to rural communities and help reduce migration to urban areas.
Mr. Bhardwaj also discussed various opportunities and government schemes available for aspiring rural entrepreneurs. He guided participants on the processes of establishing micro enterprises and explained different funding options, including support from government programs, financial institutions, and social organizations. Emphasizing innovation and community participation, he encouraged students to explore entrepreneurship as a means of social and economic development.
The session was highly interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions. Mr. Bhardwaj patiently answered several questions from the attendees regarding business planning, funding mechanisms, and challenges faced by rural entrepreneurs.
The webinar was moderated by BAJMC student Janvi Kaur, who ensured smooth conduct of the session and facilitated interaction between the resource person and participants.
At the end of the program, Mr. Ram Prakash delivered the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to the guest speaker for sharing valuable insights on rural entrepreneurship. He also thanked the organizers and participants for making the webinar successful.
