Subharti University Successfully Organized “Khelo India Asmita Athletics League” for Girls Under 14 & 16
The Department of Physical Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized the prestigious “Khelo India Asmita Athletics League” for girls under 14 and 16 years. The event, held on the university’s athletic grounds, aimed to promote sports participation among young girls and provide a competitive platform to showcase emerging athletic talent. The event was jointly organized by the Department of Physical Education of the university.
The program commenced with an enthusiastic opening ceremony attended by students, faculty members, coaches, and sports enthusiasts. The atmosphere was filled with energy as participants from various schools and training centres gathered to compete in a wide range of track and field events such as sprints, long jump, shot put, relay races, and more.
Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Education, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his inaugural address, Dr. Kumar emphasized the importance of sports in shaping discipline, leadership, and resilience among students. He expressed pride in the university’s efforts to actively support the Khelo India initiative and promote sports culture, especially for young girls. He encouraged the participants to pursue athletics with passion and commitment, highlighting that platforms like the Asmita League play a crucial role in identifying and nurturing future champions.
