“Legal Awareness and Sensitization Program”
Sardar Patel Subharti Law Institute, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, in association with the District Legal Services Authority, Meerut organized a program on legal awareness and free assistance, for speedy resolution of the problems of litigants through various processes of Alternative Dispute Resolution Under the direction of Director of the Subharti Law College Mr. Rajesh Chandra (Former Justice, Prayagraj, High Court, Uttar Pradesh) and under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya, Dean, Subharti law college.
While conducting the program, Dr. Sarika Tyagi, Convener of Law Club called upon the stage Shri Vinod Sharma, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Meerut, Shri Shelesh Pandey, ACJM /JM Meerut and Prof.
Dr. Vaibhav Goel for dias formation. Prof. (Dr.) Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya Welcomes the guests by giving plants to them. The program started by lighting the lamp in front of Maa Saraswati.
At the beginning of the programme, the Dean Faculty of Law told the August gathering about the main methods of alternative dispute resolution and also gave an example of his own and told how law plays an important role in your daily life.
He was told that the Free Legal Aid Center established at Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law, recognized by the State Legal Services Authority, Uttar Pradesh and under the patronage of the District Legal Services Authority, Meerut, has been continuously organizing free legal aid and awareness programs from time to time. Mamta Tiwari Panel Advocate explained to the audience through day to day examples how students can solve their problems without expenses through various methods of alternative dispute resolution.
AC.JM Mr. Shailesh Pandey told the audience how you can use your education for the upliftment of yourself and the society and he gave inspirational examples of life of various great men like Swami Vivekananda and advocate of Mahatma Gandhi etc. He spoke about the role of advocate for the upliftment of the society.
The secretary of the District Legal Services Authority Shri Vinod Sharma told the audience that the legal profession is very sacred. A person making a career in this field should patiently listen to the problems of his client and get them resolved properly. Along with this, he said that both Article 14 and 21 of the Indian Constitution talk about the rights and equality of the citizens as well as the Indian Constitution. Article 39A of the Constitution talks about free legal aid if a person is poor or helpless and needs justice, then such a person can apply for free justice through the District Legal Services Authority located in the District Court Meerut premises. Free advocate is made available to such applicants by the District Legal Services Authority.
At the end of the program a vote of thanks was given by Prof. (Dr.) Reena Bishnoi. Advocates Ayesha Praveen, Ranjana Nagi and Babita etc. panel advocates and faculty members Ms. Afreen Almas, Ms. Ana Sisodia and Ms. Shalini Goyal etc. were present in the programme.
