The Men’s Basketball Tournament–2025 was successfully organized under the joint auspices of the Student Council of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, and Subharti Polytechnic College. Five teams participated in this event from Subharti Dental College, College of Naturopathy & Yoga Sciences, Subharti Engineering College, Subharti Physiotherapy College, and Subharti Polytechnic College.
The event was formally inaugurated by Dr. Sartaj Ahmad, Dean, Student Welfare; Dr. Sweta Bhardwaj, Additional Dean, Student Welfare; Dr. Sandeep Chaudhary, Dean, College of Physical Education; Dr. Abhay M. Shankar Gowda, Dean, College of Naturopathy & Yoga; Dr. Reena Bishnoi, Dean, Subharti Law College; Dr. S.C. Tiwari, Dean, Subharti Polytechnic College; Dr. Sarika Tyagi; and Mr. Daud.
The chief guest of the programme was Mr. Shravan Chaudhary, national volleyball medalist and Physical Education teacher in Delhi. In his motivational address, he highlighted the importance of sportsmanship, patience, discipline, and continuous practice.
All teams showcased exceptional talent, resulting in intense and exciting matches throughout the tournament. After a thrilling final, Subharti Engineering College won the champion’s trophy for their outstanding performance. Subharti Dental College was declared first runner-up, and the College of Naturopathy & Yoga Sciences secured the second runner-up position. Individual players were also honoured for their excellence: Vinay Kumar from Engineering College was awarded Best Player, Bineet from the College of Naturopathy & Yoga Sciences was named Best Defender, and Vishal from Subharti Dental College received the Best Shooter award.
During the closing ceremony, Dr. Sartaj Ahmad stated that this tournament, organized through the combined efforts of the Student Council and Subharti Polytechnic College, has proved to be an important step in promoting sports culture. He added that the event inspired students with values of teamwork, discipline, strong determination, leadership, and mutual sportsmanship.
Additional Dean, Student Welfare, Dr. Sweta Bhardwaj, expressed her gratitude to all Student Council members, faculty of Subharti College of Physical Education, sports trainers, referees, and photographer Deepak Kumar for successfully conducting the event.
