ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY
Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU) is a University under section 2(f) of the University Grant Commission (U.G.C.) Act, 1956 set up under the Swami Vivekanand Subharti Vishwavidhaylaya, Uttar Pradesh Adhiniyam, 2008 (U.P. Act No.29 of 2008) as passed by the Uttar Pradesh Legislature and assented by the honorable Governor of Uttar Pradesh in September 2008. The main 250-acre green campus of the University is in the National Capital Region, strategically situated on National Highway 58.
ABOUT THE COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL
Established in 2011 Maharishi Aurobindo Subharti College & Hospital of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences, Meerut is a constituent college of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University backed by the MTVBRC Trust. It is the first institurion of its kind in North India. The College thrives for producing quality doctors of Naturopathic Medicine & Yoga Therapy. Currently it offers B.N.Y.S. & M.D. programs and has a 100 bedded Yoga & Naturopathy Hospital & associated with a 100 bedded Super speciality Modern Medicine Hospital.
BACKGROUND & RATIONALE
Yoga and Naturopathy have gained global recognition as evidence-based systems of health promotion and disease management. However, in order to strengthen their academic and clinical standing, it is essential to promote rigorous research methodology, quality scientific writing, and awareness aboutIntellectual Property Rights (IPR).While interest in Yoga and Naturopathy research has increased, researchers often face challenges such as:
- Limited knowledge of appropriate study designs and statistical methods,
- Lack of training in preparing manuscripts for reputed journals, and
- Limited awareness of IPR and patenting processes relevant to innovation.
This seminar will address these gaps by bringing together experts from academia, IPR, and research councils to provide training and guidance to young researchers and faculty in the field of Yoga and Naturopathy.
OBJECTIVES
- To enhance knowledge and skills in research methodology relevant to Yoga and Naturopathy.
- To build capacity in scientific writing, publication ethics, and grant writing.
- To create awareness on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), patents, and protection of traditional knowledge.
- To promote evidence-based practice and innovation in Yoga and Naturopathy.
- To facilitate networking among researchers, academicians, and policymakers.

CONCLUSION
This seminar will significantly contribute to building research capacity, scientific communication skills, and awareness of IPR among Yoga and Naturopathy professionals. Support from CCRYN, Ministry of AYUSH will strengthen India’s efforts in advancing evidence-based traditional medicine, protecting intellectual property, and fostering innovation in line with national health priorities.
