Under the direction of Dean Faculty of Law, one Week Orientation program of B.A.LL.B. Batch- 2021 is organized by Dr. Sarika Tyagi & Dr. Prem Chandra, Academic Coordinators Team of Subharti Law College, Meerut from 01/10/2021 to 07/10/202. The schedule of the program is as under.
DAY-ONE 01/10/2021
On the first day remembering the Goddess of knowledge Maa Saraswati, with the Saraswati Vandna program was started by Dr. Sarika Tyagi, Associate Professor along with Dr. Prem Chandra Assistant Professor , Subharti Law College. Their after introduction of director, Subharti Law college Hon’ble Justice Rajesh Chandra, given by Dr. Sarika Tyagi and called for his words of blessings and thereafter the introduction of Dean, Faculty of Law Prof. Dr. Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya, given by Dr. Sarika Tyagi and called him for words of wisdom and Dr. Vaibhav encouraged students for getting success in future in the field which has been chosen by them and welcome all the students in SUBHARTI PARIVAR.
After inauguration of the program, Dr. Sarika Tyagi explained in detail to the students about the various college authorities, college committees and their functioning in the college.
Thereafter Ms. Afreen Almas, Assistant Professor has given a brief introduction about legal luminaries. She told that during the time British government in India, there were many laws, rules, regulations to run the country and nothing was happening without law and its another case that for every bad thing there was law. And there were many Indians who were advocate by study and profession who became part of the constituent assembly after Britishers agreed to leave India. Legal luminaries means advocates, law experts. Further, She told that Dominance of legal luminaries in the Constituent Assembly depicts that the constituent assembly was dominated by the people who were experts in the legal sphere or the field of law. This also led to the lengthiest written constitution of the world and comparatively in a complicated language too. After that the students was brought by Dr. Sartaj Ahmad and Mr. Vikas Tyagi to visit the university Campus.
DAY- SECOND: 02/10/2021
On the second day , program was initiated by Coordinator and the session was presented by Dr. Reena Bishnoi Associate Professor. She explained about the University Authorities and University Committees and their functioning to the Students. Thereafter a lecture on Stress Management and Wellness was delivered by Dr. Simmi Gurwara. After that a quiz competition was organized by the members ERP Committee Dr. Sarika Tyagi and Ms. Anjali Yadav.
DAY- THREE: 04/10/2021
On third day of the programme, the Session Started by Dr. Sarika and thereafter a lecture on “Duties of Lawyer” was taken by Dr. Ashutosh Garg, Associate Professor Subharti Law College. He explained in detail to the Students about the duties and the ethics of the lawyer that a lawyer has very pious duties towards his client, duties towards court, and duties towards colleagues. He also told about the fiduciary relation between advocate and client because of this relation it is expected from an advocate that he should maintain the confidentiality of the communication and should not be bias and always be honest and loyal toward his client. Thereafter, Dr. Sarika Tyagi make acquaint to the students about the ERP and College web page. After this, a lecture on “How to Use Online Tools” was taken by the Dr. Prem Chandra. Firstly he raised a question to the students that what do you mean by online tools? He said that Online learning tools refer to any program, app, or technology that can be accessed via an internet connection and enhance a teacher’s ability to present information and a student’s ability to access that information. He also makes aware to the students about the various online tools/websites which are specifically dedicated to the legal knowledge and law.
FOURTH DAY: 05.10.2021.
On the fourth day of the program Justice Rajesh Chandra has taken a lecture on Working of Courts in India. He told that the courts are divided into three categories with top court, middle court and lower court. The top court is named as the Supreme Court, while the middle court is named as High Court, and the lower court is named as District Court. There is a clear hierarchy about the court system in India. India, being one of the biggest countries in the world with a fabulous population has a very strong judiciary system which is inherent with the structure of the courts and its hierarchy and the judicial system. This system provides livelihood to huge number of professionals attached with the system of judiciary in different forms and thus serve the nation with the service. In this essay, the structural pattern of judiciary system will be narrated with the hierarchical type of courts effectively take part in the judiciary system and the different personalities engaged in this profession to play different roles assigned to them.
Thereafter Ms. Ana Sisodia took a lecture on How to Make Memorial/ Case Comment. She told that artificial courts for the law students are called moot courts. It is a kind of a debate on the specific case decided by the court or specific subject or issue or an imaginary case prepared for this purpose. It is an extracurricular activity organized at many law colleges in which students take part in mock court proceedings that involve drafting memorials and speaking at oral argument. It is a great method of learning law and legal skills that require the students ofo analyze and argue both sides of a hypothetical legal issue using procedures. Mooting is considered a specific form of stimulation in which students are asked to argue points of law before a stimulated court. Moot court, however, does not involve actual testimony by witnesses or the presentation of evidence, but is based solely on the application of law to a fabricated legal issue.
FIFTH DAY: 06.10.2021.
On the fifth day of the programme Dr. Simmi Gurwara took a lecture on Professional Skill Time Management, Positive Attitude, Self Motivation. She told that Self-management skills boost your productivity and performance at work, which helps in achieving professional goals. It is a soft skill thatincreases your employability and gives you more control over your career path. These skills are essential to showcase that you will be a reliable employee. Thereafter Ms. Shrasthi Sharma & Bhawini Kaushalya conducted Group Discussion and Extempore. Where students shown their communication skill & presented their thoughts over the different topics.
In the last of the day Dr. Ashutosh Garg took a lecture on How to Search Case Laws. He told that Searching for Case laws by Case Number Click on Case law search by case number. Click will take the user to following options viz., Select Court, Enter Case Number. Iit should always be in desired format Select court from the drop-down under- Select Court. Enter case number in the textbox under and then Enter Case Number.
SIXTH DAY: 07.10.2021.
On Sixth Day of the Program, Dr. Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya, Dean Faculty of Law, told about the Courses which are being offered by the Law College. After that a lecture was taken by Dr. Prem Chandra on Career in Legal Profession. He told about the various job opportunities available in legal field. In the last program was ended with Vote of thanks by Dr. Sarika Tyagi.
