The Department of Education, Faculty of Education (FOE), Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut successfully organized an activity titled “Online Quiz: 150 Years of Vande Mataram” as part of the commemoration of 150 years of Vande Mataram.
The online quiz was conducted on January 19, 2026, from 11:00 AM onwards and was open to all faculty members (teaching and non-teaching) and students of SVSU, Meerut. A large number of participants enthusiastically took part in the quiz, and all participants received E-certificates for their successful participation.
The quiz aimed to promote awareness among students, faculty members, and staff about the historical, cultural, and national significance of Vande Mataram, fostering a sense of patriotism, integrity, and respect for India’s freedom struggle and heritage. The initiative was aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, which emphasizes inclusive and equitable quality education, and Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, which focuses on promoting peaceful, just, and inclusive societies.
On this occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Education, motivated the students to participate actively in such academic and cultural activities and encouraged them to contribute toward building a responsible and value-based society. Prof. (Dr.) Indira Singh, Head, Department of Education, Faculty of Education addressed the gathering and spoke about the importance of national songs and symbols in nurturing unity, pride, and ethical values among the youth.
While addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Anoj Raj explained that Vande Mataram emerged as a unifying force during the freedom struggle, awakening national consciousness and strengthening the resolve for independence.
The event was coordinated by Ms. Vaishali Saini (Assistant Professor, Department of Education, FOE, SVSU) as the Event Coordinator, with the support of the Head, Department of Education, and the Dean, Faculty of Education. The student coordinators for the event were Shrutee, Seema Sharma, and Muskan Dixit (B.El.Ed. 8th Semester).
The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Vaishali Saini, the Convener of the event. The activity proved to be informative and inspiring, reinforcing the message of patriotism, cultural awareness, and civic responsibility while celebrating the legacy of Vande Mataram.
