The Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, successfully organised the Deeksharambh- 2025, Orientation Week & Induction program from 25th August 2025 to 30th August 2025 with great enthusiasm and active participation from the students of the Department of Education and the Department of Physical Education. The program was specially designed to welcome the new batch of students and provide them with an inspiring start to their academic journey. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Kumar Sharma, and CEO, Prof. (Dr.) Shalya Raj, sent their best wishes to the newcomer students for their bright future.
Objectives of the Programme
The main objectives of Deeksharambh 2025 were:
- To welcome and orient the new students of the Department of Education and the Department of Physical Education.
- To introduce the vision, mission, and functioning of the Faculty of Education and its departments.
- To create awareness of inclusivity and support systems, such as the Disability Centre, to sensitise students towards holistic development.
Opening Ceremony
The inaugural session commenced with the lighting of the lamp ceremony in the presence of all dignitaries, symbolising the dispelling of darkness and the beginning of a new learning journey. The session was gracefully anchored by Dr. Roopam Jain, Assistant Professor (DOE) and Dr. Kapil Shakya, Assistant Professor DOPE) who served as the Masters of Ceremony and ensured the smooth flow of the event.
Prof. (Dr.) Indira Singh, Acting Dean, Faculty of Education and Head, Department of Education, extended a warm welcome to all the newly admitted students. In her address, she introduced the theme of Deeksharambh- 2025, highlighting the importance of discipline, dedication, and holistic growth in higher education. The students were introduced to the academic structure and culture of both departments by Prof. Anoj Raj, Department of Education, delivered a comprehensive introduction to the Department of Education, outlining its history, achievements, and prospects & Dr. Manju Adhikari provided a detailed overview of the Department of Physical Education, explaining its vision, facilities, and student opportunities. As part of the orientation, Mrs. Deepika Chaudhary, Coordinator of the Disability Centre, SVSU Meerut, sensitised the students about the key initiatives and support systems available for differently-abled students, ensuring inclusivity in education. The inaugural day also witnessed vibrant cultural performances and yoga exercises by senior students. These performances not only entertained the audience but also served as a warm gesture of welcome to the freshers, creating an environment of joy, energy, and motivation. The newly admitted students of both the Department of Education and the Department of Physical Education expressed their happiness and excitement for being part of SVSU. They appreciated the efforts of the organising team and felt encouraged by the motivating words of their teachers and seniors. The one-day inaugural session of Deeksharambh- 2025 was a grand success. It provided the freshers with a glimpse into the rich academic and cultural environment of SVSU. The program laid a strong foundation for their upcoming academic journey by instilling confidence, motivation, and a sense of belongingness.
Day 2 – 26 August 2025
On the second day of the Induction Program,Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Education, warmly welcomed all the newcomers and introduced them to the Faculty of Education and the University. He shared that Subharti University stands firmly on the four guiding pillars—Shiksha (Education), Seva (Service), Sanskar (Values), and Rastriyeta (National Spirit).Encouraging the students, he said that this University is not just an institution but a platform of endless possibilities where dreams are nurtured, talents are polished, and character is shaped. He motivated the students to remain disciplined, determined, and dedicated, assuring them that with sincerity and hard work they will achieve not only academic excellence but also personal growth and social responsibility.
Prof. (Dr.) Sudhir Tyagi, Dean FASS, introduced the students to the Library Facilities and E-Library resources. Prof Dr. Munish Raddy, Dean Student welfare SVSU delivered his view about student welfare saying that all student are like jewel they can achieve anything by self-discipline. Afterwards, Dr. Reeba Devi (Assistant Professor, DoE) and Dr. Ankit Singh Jadon (Assistant Professor, DoPE) welcomed the newcomers and motivated them for self-introduction. Later, Dr. Sangeeta Rani, Dr. Sartaj Alam, and Mrs. Isha Jauhari guided the students on a visit to the Faculty of Education and Central Library, making them familiar with the rules and available facilities.
Day 3 – 27 August 2025
On the third day of the Induction Program, Prof. (Dr.) Seema, Dean Academics and Dean Management, delivered an inspiring lecture to the new students. She emphasized the importance of discipline, management skills, focus on goals, kindness, and hard work, highlighting that there are no shortcuts to success. After the lecture, Dr. Sangeeta Rani and Dr. Atul Tiwari guided the students to the sports grounds and facilities, where they introduced them to the available infrastructure. They also explained the examination system of the Faculty of Education, giving clarity on rules and evaluation methods.
Day 4 – 28 August 2025
On the fourth day of the Induction Program (Deeksharambh – 2025), Dr. Ragini Srivastava (DoE) and Dr. Atul Tiwari (DoPE) organized a visit to Shaheed Upwan for the new students, where they were inspired by the values of patriotism and sacrifice. And Dr Sangeeta Rani gave information about anti Ranging, saying that we all are subhartian, need to help newcomers as a family member. The highlight of the day was a Special Guest Lecture delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Rahul Bansal, Chairman of the Wellness Centre, SVSU on the topic “Holistic Development through Wellness: A Guide for Newcomers”. In his address, Dr. Bansal emphasized the importance of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being for students. He motivated the newcomers to adopt a balanced lifestyle and to utilize the facilities of the University Wellness Centre for their overall growth.
Day 5 Report (29 August 2025)
On the fifth day of the Induction Program (Deeksharambh – 2025), Dr. Roopam Jain (DoE) introduced the students to SWAYAM MOOCs, highlighting their importance in self-paced digital learning. She also gave an overview of the Career Counselling Cell, Training and Placement Cell, and Entrepreneurship Development Cell, explaining their roles in enhancing employability and professional growth. Introduction to Non-Teaching and Office Staff – Presented by Mr. Sunil (Office Superintendent, FOE). Later, Dr. Ragini Srivastava (DoE) addressed the students on the Sexual Harassment & Women Cell, creating awareness about safety, dignity, and equal opportunities on campus. The day concluded with the celebration of National Sports Day, where Dr. Sangeeta Rani (DoE) organized an Online Quiz Competition. All newcomers actively participated, making the session interactive and informative. This day was dedicated to academic regulations and inter-disciplinary exposure. Day 5 – Valedictory Session Report – 30 August 2025
The Valedictory Session of the Induction Program (Deeksharambh – 2025) was held on 30th August 2025 with great enthusiasm.
The day began with an enlightening lecture by Dr. Kirti Nayyar, PD Trainer, Department of Personality Development, who guided the students on personality enhancement and effective communication.
Following this, Dr. Manju Adhikari (DoPE) shared valuable insights on the Mentor–Mentee system, emphasizing the role of mentorship in academic and personal growth
The highlight of the session was the special lecture by Prof. (Dr.) Kartar Singh, Professor, Department of Teachers Training and Non Formal Education Faculty of Education Jamia Millia Islamia a central University, Delhi. He congratulated all newcomers and advised them to remain focused on their goals, manage time efficiently, and study step by step. He inspired the students with the message that even the biggest achievements can be attained through small but consistent strategies.
The Valedictory Session of Deeksharambh-2025, Orientation Week & Induction Program concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Anoj Raj, Professor, Department of Education. In his address, he expressed profound gratitude to all the dignitaries, invited speakers, and respected faculty members whose constant encouragement and active participation enriched the programme with knowledge and inspiration.
He especially acknowledged the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Kumar Sharma, and CEO, Prof. (Dr.) Shalya Raj, for their visionary leadership and blessings, as well as the Dean, Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar, for his motivating guidance throughout the week. He also extended his sincere thanks to Prof. (Dr,) Indira Singh, Head, Department of Education, FoE,SVSU. as well as the entire team of faculty members, coordinators, and volunteers whose dedication and teamwork ensured the successful organisation of every session. Most importantly, he appreciated the enthusiasm and keen involvement of the newcomer students, who were the true essence of this induction programme. He concluded his Vote of Thanks with best wishes for the bright and promising future of all the students, and with the hope that the learnings and experiences of Deeksharambh-2025 would remain a guiding light throughout their academic journey
