On The Occasion Of International Yoga Day

A poster making competition was organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University on the occasion of International Yoga Day-2024. Whose theme was “Yoga for Women Empowerment”. More than two dozen students from different colleges participated in the competition. The objective of this competition organized before International Yoga Day was to attract youth towards Yoga. Young creative artists showcased their skills and talents through this competition as part of the programs related to this week’s Yoga Day.

The jury of the competition included Dr. Neha Singh, Associate Professor (Economics), Liberal Arts Department and Dr. Neha Singh, HoD of Fashion Textile and Interior Design of  Fine Arts. Ms  Ritika of General Nursing stood  the first place. Varsha Raj, student of BAJMC, secured second position. GNM’s Sakshi Singh and Prachi jointly stood at the third position, while Rishika Rajput and Anjali Kumari Anu, fourth year students of Dental College, jointly stood at the fourth position.

The art displayed by all the participants was highly appreciated by both the judges. They said that the students are full of creativity. They wished all the participants good luck. The judges also appreciated that all the participants displayed the theme of Yoga Day with their skill.

On this occasion, Program Coordinator, NSS Prof. (Dr.) Subhash Chandra Thaledi appreciated the efforts of the students and praised their efforts. He said that spreading the message through art is very effective. Dr. Thaledi said that it is important for students to have artistic interest which leads to all-round development of the student. He said that the role of Yoga for women empowerment cannot be forgotten as it is a health related matter. If women are healthy then the country and society will also be healthy. Yoga plays an important role in keeping one healthy.

Program officer, NSS, Unit-3. Ms. Shivani Bhadauriya, informed all the participants about the rules related to competition. She said that on the occasion of International Yoga Day, NSS volunteers are doing many types of activities to create public awareness for Yoga. All these activities are being uploaded on My Bharat Portal (myBharat) which is directly monitored by the Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh. She said that on International Yoga Day, NSS volunteers will also be a part of the program organized at the University level and posters made on the occasion of poster making competition will also be displayed.

On this occasion, Ramprakash Tiwari, Shikeb Majeed, Dr. Preeti Singh provided support. Apart from this, Suman Kumar, Shubham Bhargava, Simran Srivastava, Kapil Gill, Sanjay Pal helped in making the program successful. The students participating in the competition were, Manmohan Bansal, Anjali Kumari Anu, Rishika Rajput, Varsha Raj, Sakshi Singh, Ritika, Kanika Dhiman, Riya Chaudhary, Nikhil Kumar, Garima Pandey, Prachi, Payal, Lipi Pal, Shruti Sharma, There were Nishu Kashyap, Priya Pal, Anjali, Roshni, Shweta Rani, Rakhi, Nisha and Anshita.
