Seminar on “Innovative Pathways to Entrepreneurial Success”
On April 15, 2025, the Department of Chemistry, Keral Verma Subharti College of Science, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, successfully organized a one-day seminar on the theme “Innovative Pathways to Success in Entrepreneurship” at the Madan Mohan Malaviya Auditorium. The seminar was conducted under the guidance of the Head of Department, Prof. (Dr.) Renu Mavi.
The program commenced with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, graced by Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Chaubey, Dean, Faculty of Sciences; Prof. (Dr.) Renu Mavi, Head, Department of Chemistry; and distinguished guest speakers Dr. Nisha Saxena, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Chemistry, MRM College, Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga; and Dr. Nidhi Saxena, Associate Professor, Faculty of Law, North Campus, University of Delhi.
Following the lamp-lighting, the formal proceedings began with a welcome address and introductory remarks by Ms. Pragati Jain, Lecturer, Department of Forensic Science. Subsequently, Dr. Preeti Singh formally felicitated the esteemed guests.
Dr. Ankita Aggarwal, Dr. Abida, Ms. Manvi Chaudhary, Ms. Ankita Sharma and Ms. Nisha played a significant role in the successful organization of the seminar.
The seminar aimed to highlight the profound connection between scientific innovation and entrepreneurship, with a special focus on transforming academic research into business ventures. A total of 161 participants from various departments attended the event.
During the technical sessions, two distinguished speakers delivered insightful lectures. Dr. Nidhi Saxena presented an extensive talk on “The Legal Framework for Startups in India: Key Regulations, Compliance, and Opportunities.” She provided detailed insights into crucial aspects related to establishing and operating startups, including company formation, intellectual property rights, regulatory compliance, tax policies, and government initiatives like “Startup India.”
In the second session, Dr. Nisha Saxena delivered an inspiring lecture on “How Science Drives Entrepreneurship: Translating Innovation into Impact.” She motivated the participants to take their research beyond academic boundaries and apply it to commercial and societal sectors.
After the technical sessions, the event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Esther Lalringzo, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry.
This seminar proved to be an excellent platform for participants to explore opportunities in converting innovations into business startups, identifying investment and funding avenues, and understanding market and legal aspects. Students expressed keen interest in participating in such interdisciplinary events in the future.
The Department of Chemistry has resolved to organize such programs regularly to foster scientific excellence and promote innovation-based entrepreneurship among students.
