Session on IPR and Pledge Activity
Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law, organized a session on IPR and Pledge activity under the direction of Director Sh. Rajesh Chandra and under the Leadership of Dean Faculty of Law, Prof.(Dr.) Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya a session on IPR and pledge Program was Organized by IPR Cell of Subharti Institute of Law. Dr. Nisha Rana was the speaker of the program.After welcome of the speaker by Dr. Sarika Tyagi, she invited the speaker to deliver her session. The speaker said that Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) protects creations of the mind, including inventions, literary and artistic works, designs, and symbols. IPR aims to promote innovation and creativity by granting legal rights to creators, enabling them to exploit their work and prevent unauthorized use. Key types of IPR in India include patents, copyrights, trademarks, and industrial designs. The Indian government has established a legal framework for IPR protection, including various acts like the Patents Act, Copyright Act, and Trade Marks Act. She said that IPR encourages individuals and businesses to invest in research and development, knowing their creations will be protected. IPR provides an incentive for businesses to develop and market new products and services, contributing to economic growth and competitiveness. Strong IPR protection helps attract foreign investment, as it ensures that intellectual property will be protected in the Indian market. IPR helps prevent unauthorized use and counterfeiting, ensuring fair competition and protecting consumers. There are certain challenges like Counterfeiting of goods and services remains a significant challenge, particularly in sectors like pharmaceuticals and consumer products. Enforcing IPR rights can be complex and costly, especially in cases involving large-scale counterfeiting or online infringements. There is a need to increase awareness among creators, businesses, and the general public about the importance of IPR and the need to respect intellectual property rights. She also told about the process of filing and registration of Intellectual Property Rights. At the last Pledge activity was held to adhering with IPR laws to avoid legal conflicts and fostering ethical practices.
