Session On Enhancing Employability By Tata Consultancy Services

A session was organized at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Swami Vivekananda Subharti University, Meerut in association with Tata Consultancy Services iON company on 03 October 2022 on the topic “Enhancing Employability”. Keynote speaker in the session was Ms. Shilpi Gautam working as Regional Head in Tata Consultancy Services National Qualifying Test and Mr. Anshul Mishra working as Regional Sales Head in Tata Consultancy Services iON. More than 175 students of Faculty of Science and Faculty of Engineering & Technology participated with enthusiasm in this session.
The keynote speaker provided detailed information on National Qualifying Test which is an Ability Test that assesses a candidate’s competencies and skills. They told that each  candidate who completes the TCS National Qualifier Test (TCS NQT) gets an NQT Score. The NQT (Cognitive Skills) Score is applicable for all industries and job roles. The TCS National Qualifier Test (TCS NQT) is planned to be conducted every quarter. Candidates can take the tests again to improve their previous scores, if desired. There are four Variants – NQT (Cognitive Skills), Attitudinal Alignment NQT (Psychometric Test), Industry NQT and Subject NQT. The purpose of organizing such a session is to make the students aware of the new ways of enhancing employability, which will make it easier for them to get a job in future. The session ended with a question/answer session.
The workshop was organized under the supervision of Dean (Dr.) Manoj Kapil and Head of Department Dr. Shravan Kumar Garg at Madan Mohan Malviya Auditorium of Faculty of Engineering and Technology. He inspired the students with his speech and appreciated the keynote speaker. Dr. Sanjeeve Tyagi, Er. Parag Rastogi, and Amardeep of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering played a key role in successfully organizing the session. Dr. Sweta Bharadwaj proposed the vote of thanks.
The session was organized with the objective to:
  1. To help students explore their values and career choices.
  2. To identify the steps necessary to achieve a goal.
  3. To develop and practice self-management skills for the work site.
  4. To explore and practice basic communication skills.
