Skill Development and Career Counselling activity
On 25 April, 2025, the Department of Chemistry, Keral Verma Subharti College of Science, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut organized a Skill Development and Career Counselling activity aimed at enhancing the holistic development of its Chemistry and Forensic Science students. The activity was conducted under the supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Renu Mavi, HOD, Department of Chemistry and was Coordinated by Ms. Esther, Assistant Professor, Chemistry and Ms. Nisha , Lecturer, Chemistry. The session was delivered by Ms. Pragati Jain, Lecturer, Chemistry / Forensic Science.
The session encompassed several key areas crucial for their academic and professional journeys, including personality development to foster confidence and interpersonal skills, and practical guidance on resume writing to effectively present their qualifications. Furthermore, the program explored diverse career opportunities available to graduates in these fields and provided insights into the process and benefits of progression for higher studies. Specific attention was given to the UG to PG conversion, clarifying pathways and requirements for postgraduate programs. Finally, students actively participated in a group discussion session, designed to hone their communication, critical thinking, and collaborative abilities.
It was highly beneficial student development program organized by the Department of Chemistry this past week. This initiative was specifically designed to equip our Chemistry and Forensic Science students with essential skills and knowledge beyond the regular curriculum.
The program incorporated sessions focused on personality development, aiming to enhance their confidence, communication, and interpersonal abilities – qualities vital for both academic and professional success. Recognizing the importance of effective self-presentation, a dedicated module on resume writing provided practical guidance on crafting compelling documents for future applications.
Furthermore, the activity explored the diverse spectrum of career opportunities available to graduates in Chemistry and Forensic Science, broadening their awareness of potential paths. For those considering further academic pursuits, we offered detailed insights into the process and advantages of progression for higher studies, with specific guidance on UG to PG conversion pathways within and beyond our institution.
