Special Guest Lecture on
“New Age Career Options in the Legal Field”
On 28th September 2024, the Faculty of Law at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized a highly engaging guest lecture on the topic “New Age Career Options in the Legal Field.” The event provided students with valuable insights into emerging and unconventional career paths in law.
The lecture commenced with a warm welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya, Dean of the Faculty of Law. In his opening remarks, Dr. Bhartiya emphasized the significance of such guest lecturers in bridging the gap between academic life and practical career preparation, especially for new students. He highlighted how events like these can guide students in exploring diverse legal career opportunities that extend beyond traditional roles.
Following the Dean’s address, Prof. (Dr.) Reena Bishnoi extended a formal welcome to the guest speaker Mr. Indranil Banerjee, a Senior Associate at JMR Global Advisors, New Delhi by presenting him with a planter. Dr Ajay Raj Singh Assistant Professor Faculty of law introduce guest speaker, with Mr. Banerjee’s vast experience in the legal industry and the relevance of his insights in navigating the evolving legal landscape.
During his lecture, Mr. Banerjee shared his expertise on emerging fields within the legal profession. He explored topics such as the impact of technology on law, including legal tech startups, cyber security law, and block chain. He also discussed the growing demand for professionals in niche areas like space law, entertainment law, and online dispute resolution (ODR). The students gained a comprehensive understanding of how modern-day legal practitioners are carving out new roles in specialized sectors.
As a token of respect and appreciation, Dr. Prem Chandra, Academic Coordinator at the Faculty of Law, presented a memento to the guest speaker.
The event was skillfully anchored and coordinated by Dr. Ajay Raj Singh, Assistant Professor at the Subharti Institute of Law. His role ensured the smooth conduct of the session, facilitating both the speaker’s presentation and student engagement.
The lecture concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Reena Bishnoi, expressing gratitude to Mr. Banerjee for his enriching talk and to the students for their enthusiastic participation.
