Ten Day International Sculpture Workshop
A ten-day sculpture workshop is being organized by the Fine Arts Department of Subharti University. Today the first day of the workshop was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by His Excellency Mr. Freddy Swain Ambassador Danish Embassy India, Vice Chancellor Dr. Abhay Shankar Gowda, Principal Dr. Pintu Mishra, Head of Department Dr. Pooja Gupta and invited sculptor Lynne Thordsen. On this occasion, a series of cultural programs like Saraswati Vandana, Kathak dance, Konal Bhangra were presented by the students. Also released was Lynne Thordsson’s art catalogue. Describing her works, Lynne said that her sculptures are based on experiences of human life and moments presenting various emotions. She mainly works in bronze. On this occasion, the exhibition of Lynne’s works in Raja Ravi Varma Art Gallery was also inaugurated by His Excellency Mr. Freddy Swain. He also praised the paintings, sculptures and posters of the students of the Fine Arts Department and said that the students of Subharti Fine Arts Department are learning from great artists. This type of high quality creative work is stored in art galleries with very spectacular presentation. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Abhay Shankar Gowda said that the Fine Arts Department of the University remains engaged in maturity all the time. It seems impossible to compare students’ work. Principal Dr. Pintu Mishra said that painting is the mother of all arts, hence it is at the top to display the works of the students under one roof and the quality of their works is incomparable. On this occasion, Head of the Department, Dr. Pooja Gupta conducted the stage and organized the program and told that Lynne Thordsen has been invited from Denmark for a ten-day sculpture workshop in the department. He will teach you how to work with live models. Dr. Bhavana Grover, Dr. Vandana Tomar, Dr. Anshu Srivastava, Mr. Dharamraj Gupta and Mr. Lucky Tyagi contributed in making the entire program successful.
