The Forensic Trail (Crime Scene Reconstruction Competition)
The Department of Chemistry and Forensic Science at Keral Verma Subharti College of Science, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized a thrilling event titled “The Forensic Trail” — a Crime Scene Reconstruction Competition, held on November 21, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM.
The event was aimed at providing students with practical experience in crime scene investigation and reconstruction. Participants formed teams of 3 to 5 members to collaboratively recreate crime scenes with meticulous attention to forensic detail. Total of 35 students and 7 faculties attended the event. The competition served as an interactive platform for students to apply their theoretical knowledge in a simulated real-world scenario, enhancing their investigative skills.
The event saw active participation and enthusiasm, with multiple teams presenting diverse interpretations of crime scene setups. The reconstructions were evaluated based on accuracy, creativity, and adherence to forensic principles. This engaging experience allowed students to gain insights into crime scene management, evidence collection, and analysis, fostering a deeper understanding of forensic practices.
The event was organized under the guidance of Head of the department and Dean, Dr. Renu Mavi and coordinated by Ms. Manvi Chaudhary (Lecturer) and was supported by student coordinators Prashant Singh and Vishisht Singh.
The efforts of all concerned ensured a well-organized and successful event, creating a memorable learning experience for all attendees.
