Unity Sports Fest Organized at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut

The Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU), Meerut, successfully organized the Unity Sports Fest on February 11, 2026, at the General Mohan Singh Playground, SVSU. The event commenced at 11:00 a.m. and witnessed enthusiastic participation from teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and students of the Faculty of Education.
The programme was graced by the Chief Guests , Dr. Seema Sharma, Head, Department of Languages and Prof. SC Tiwari , Principal, Poltecnic College. They were warmly welcomed by the Dean , Faculty of Education , Head , Department of Education & Head , Department of Physical Education, with a traditional patka and a sapling, symbolizing respect and environmental consciousness.
The opening ceremony began with an inaugural address by the Lieut. Prof.(Dr.) Sandeep Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Education who highlighted the importance of sports in holistic development and emphasized the relevance of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in education and campus activities. The event was aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Following this, Prof. (Dr.)Indira Singh , Head, Department of Education administered the sports oath, officially marking the commencement of the sports fest. Dr. Manju Adhikari, Head, Department of Physical education also addressed the gathering and spoke about the role of sports in promoting physical fitness, discipline, and teamwork.
A variety of sports events were organized during the fest. In the Musical Chair competition, the final winners were Mr. Shubham Rathi, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education, Dr. Manju Adhikari, and students Ritik, Kamini, and Navneet. In the Tug of War, the teaching staff emerged victorious over the non-teaching staff, while among students, the BPED 1st year students secured the win.
In the Three-Leg Race, Adrina & Ashka (BPED students) won in the girls’ category, while Harsh Yadav and Aryan (B.El.Ed students) claimed victory in the boys’ category. A 400-meter relay race was also organized for faculty members, in which the winner team ( Dr.Nishant, Dr. Manju Adhikari , Mr. Shubham Rathi, Ms. Deepika Chaudhary) showcased excellent coordination and sportsmanship to secure victory.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Anoj Raj, who appreciated the collective efforts of all participants and organizers. The programme was anchored in a unique and engaging style by Dr. Atul Kumar Tiwari, which added energy and enthusiasm to the event.The event was jointly convened by Dr. Praveen Kumar , Associate professor, Department of Physical education and Ms Vaishali Saini, Assistant Professor, Department of Education .
The Unity Sports Fest successfully promoted inclusivity, physical fitness, teamwork, and unity among all members of the Faculty of Education, reflecting the true spirit of sports and collaboration.
