On the occasion of World Water Day (22th March 2026), the University Environment Committee, in collaboration with Jyotirao Phule Subharti College of Physiotherapy, organized a Water Conservation Awareness Rally on 20th March 2026 with active participation of students. The Honourable Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr) Pramod Kumar Sharma, graced the rally with his presence and inspired everyone with his valuable words. Our Officiating Principal, Prof. (Dr) Amit Kumar Goel, also enlightened the gathering on how small contributions in daily life can help in preventing water wastage and conserving water effectively.
Following this, the Head of the Environment Committee, Prof. (Dr) Mukesh Ruhela, addressed the gathering and shared meaningful insights on the importance of water conservation. Students from various colleges participated in the rally with great enthusiasm and energy.
The primary objective of this rally was to spread awareness about the importance of saving water and using it wisely in our daily lives. During the rally, students and Environment Committee members visited different colleges within the university campus and interacted with faculty members, students, and staff to share simple, practical, and easy-to-follow ways to conserve water and promote sustainable habits.
Water is one of our most valuable resources, yet we often don’t realize its importance until it becomes scarce. Through this rally, we aimed to remind everyone that even small actions—like turning off taps properly, fixing leaks, reusing water where possible, and avoiding unnecessary wastage—can make a big difference. Every drop saved today helps secure a better tomorrow.
The rally also encouraged people to reflect on their daily habits and adopt small changes that can lead to a long-term positive impact. By working together and spreading awareness, we can build a more responsible and environmentally conscious community.
This initiative is also connected with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation, which focuses on ensuring safe and sustainable water for everyone. Through this rally, the University aims to inspire a sense of responsibility, promote collective action, and motivate everyone to take meaningful steps towards water conservation, contributing to a healthier, greener, and more sustainable future.
