As we have taken a resolution to empower women through Naari Shakti Abhiyan under Mission Shakti Phase 3, Dr. Manju Adhikari organised one-day workshop on Martial art training in the presence of respected Chairperson of the Women Empowerment Committee – Dr.
Anjali Khare. Many students and faculty members participated with enthusiasm.
The participants were taught to defend themselves for their safety especially women because as we know the current situation women are victims of violent crimes like sexual assault and domestic violence on a daily basis. Many women are interested in learning how to protect themselves in such violent situations. A Martial arts workshop was thus conducted to empower the women and to teach some techniques and skills to defend themselves against physical attacks. Mr. Rajeev taught different types of kicks for example Tae Kwon Do equips women with an arsenal of devastating kicks that can help combat the strength of male attackers.
