World Health Day Celebration
Each year on the 7th of April is celebrated as World Health Day under the sponsorship of the World Health Organisation (WHO) since it is the foundation day of WHO. Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Department of Home Science celebrated this day by organizing a poster-making competition. WHO has announced this year’s theme of World Health Day as ” Health for all”. The students were instructed to prepare posters on the same theme. The program started with an introductory speech by Ms.
Urvashi Sharma, who educated the students about the importance and history of this day.
She also informed students about the UP Government campaign on ” Encephalitis” during the World Health Day celebration. The students then prepared their posters with enthusiasm under the guidance of the faculty members. The head of the department Dr. Nishma Singh then selected the winners with other faculty members and the students were felicitated with prizes. Prachi from BSc Home Science 2nd yr bagged the first prize, followed by Neha Chaudhary at 2nd position from MSc Food and Nutrition 2nd yr, 3rd prize given to Vanshika Gulati Bsc Home Science 3rd year, and consolation prize to Kimi from MSc Human Development.
