The Rahul Sankrityayan Subharti School of Linguistics and Foreign Languages  (Department of Languages), under the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized Pathprasthan–2025 (Farewell Party) with great enthusiasm and joy.

The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The program was graced with best wishes from Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Major General Dr. G.K. Thapliyal and Hon’ble CEO Dr. Shalya Raj, adding prestige and dignity to the occasion.

Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Dr. Sudhir Tyagi, emphasized in his address that students are the most valuable assets of a university. Without them, both teachers and the institution remain incomplete. He stressed the mutual significance of students and teachers, stating that not only do teachers play an important role in shaping students’ lives, but students also contribute greatly to the value and identity of teachers.

Head of the Department of Languages, Dr. Seema Sharma, conveyed her heartfelt wishes to the students. Instead of using the word “farewell,” she referred to the occasion as “Pathprasthan” (a new journey) and encouraged the students to see this departure as the beginning of their journey toward a bright future.

Prof. Rajeshwar Pal, in his unique style, addressed the students by saying, “May your strengths always guide you, may each passing day help you grow and become better, and may my blessings accompany you in every step of your success.”

Associate Professor Dr. Rafat Khanam appreciated the students and extended her best wishes for their bright future through an inspiring message.

The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Manoj Kumar Tripathi, Head of the Department of Liberal Arts; Dr. Durvesh Pundeer, Ms. Amrita Chaudhary, Dr. Neeru Singh from the Faculty of Science, and French Trainer Mrs. Jyoti.

The program saw enthusiastic participation from undergraduate, postgraduate, and research students. The students showcased their talents through dance, singing, mimicry, jokes, poetry, games, and other engaging performances.

Among the postgraduate students:

  • Apoorvi Mittal was titled “Senior Superstar”
  • Chhavi Chaudhary won “Miss Gorgeous”
  • Shikha Sharma was crowned “Miss Farewell”

 

Dr. Seema Sharma, Head of the Department, presented awards to the winners and motivated all students to pursue their goals with dedication and passion.

The entire event was skillfully anchored by undergraduate students Kanishka Gautam and Vidhi Goswami. The farewell was attended by Dr. Seema Sharma, Prof. Rajeshwar Pal, Dr. Rafat Khanam, Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Dr. Swati Sharma, Dr. Ranveer Singh, Dr. Ashish Kumar ‘Deepankar’, Dr. Nishi Raghav, Dr. Anuj Bawra, Dr. Preeti Sharma, Sanya Agarwal, and Ankit.

The success of the program was due to the collective efforts of undergraduate and postgraduate students including Vidhi Goswami, Fahad, Kanishka, Bhumi, Vidhi Chauhan, Samya, Priyanshu, Khushi, Mayank, Ritik, Nasima, Raghvendra, and many others who played vital roles in organizing the event.

Outcome of The event

The Pathprasthan–2025 farewell program was a successful and memorable event that provided emotional closure and celebrated the journey of outgoing students. It fostered strong bonds between students and faculty, encouraged students for their future endeavors, and showcased student talent through cultural performances. The event promoted teamwork, leadership, and a sense of belonging. Awards and titles boosted student morale, while the presence of faculty from various departments reflected interdepartmental harmony. Overall, the program was a well-organized celebration of achievements and new beginnings.

In conclusion, Pathprasthan–2025 served not only as a farewell but also as a celebration of the students’ journey, achievements, and the values they carry forward. It was a heartfelt and memorable event that reinforced the department’s commitment to holistic student development.
