The Department of Animation, Faculty of Fine Arts, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, successfully organized a workshop on “Cinema in Your Pocket: Learn Filmmaking with Smartphones” from 18th August to 19th September 2025.
The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, marking the inauguration of the workshop. Renowned filmmaker Mr. Pritam Patowary from Assam conducted engaging sessions where he guided students on the fundamentals of video shooting techniques and the use of smartphones as a powerful tool for filmmaking.
During the workshop, students not only learned the theoretical aspects but also actively participated in hands-on video shooting exercises, showcasing their creativity and technical skills. The initiative, coordinated by Dr. Vidhi Khandelwal (H.O.D., Animation Department) and supported by Prof. (Dr.) Pintu Mishra (Dean & Principal, Faculty of Fine Arts), provided students with valuable exposure to the art of mobile filmmaking.
The success of the event was further enriched by the contributions of Ms. Tamanna and Mr. Lakshay Khanna, while the program anchoring was carried out gracefully by Mitanshi and Ayushi, students of B.Sc. Animation.
The Department extends its heartfelt gratitude to all faculty members and students for their encouragement, contribution, and active participation in making the program a grand success.
