Swami Vivekanand Subharti University  Conferred with “Incubation Center of the Year Award 2026” for Subharti Research and Incubation Center at Startup Mahakumbh 5.0

Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, for its Subharti Research and Incubation Centre (SRIC), has been conferred with the prestigious “Incubation Centre of the Year Award 2026” at Startup Mahakumbh 5.0 – The 5th Chapter of Asia’s Biggest Startup Congress, held at the India International Convention & Expo Centre (Yashobhoomi), New Delhi, on 09–10 March 2026. This remarkable achievement has been achieved under the dynamic leadership of honourable CEO Professor (Dr.) Shalya Raj and the valuable guidance of the Hon’ble Director General, Maj. Gen. G. K. Thapliyal.

The event, themed “Local to Global: Taking Indian Innovation to the World,” served as a premier platform bringing together leading innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers, industry leaders, investors, and academicians to deliberate on strengthening India’s startup ecosystem and promoting globally competitive technologies.

This prestigious recognition highlights the significant contribution of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University’s Research & Development Cell and SRIC in fostering a strong innovation, startup, and entrepreneurship ecosystem within the University. Through its incubation initiatives, the University actively promotes technology-driven innovation, startup incubation, intellectual property generation, technology transfer, and the commercialization of research outcomes. The ecosystem facilitates idea-to-prototype development, proof-of-concept validation, product development, startup mentoring, and industry–academia collaboration, enabling innovators and entrepreneurs to transform research ideas into market-ready technologies and scalable ventures.

The IPR Cell and Startup Committee under the Research & Development Cell play a pivotal role in strengthening the innovation framework by providing support in prior art searches, patent drafting, patent filing, intellectual property protection, technology disclosure management, and IP commercialization strategies. The integrated model of startup incubation, research translation, and intellectual property management at SVSU aims to nurture deep-tech innovations, sustainable startups, and knowledge-driven enterprises aligned with national missions such as Startup India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The award was received by Professor Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya, Dean, Research & Development, on behalf of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, along with Professor Lubhan Singh, Additional Director, Research; Dr. Nisha Rana, In-charge, IPR Cell; Dr. K. K. Sharma, SRIC Coordinator; Dr. Nikhil Rathi, Member, Startup Committee; Ms. Khushboo Rani; Mr. Shammi Saxena; and Mr. Ayush Bhatnagar, who were also present on the occasion. They represented the University and its commitment toward strengthening innovation, startup incubation, and intellectual property development.

This recognition reflects the University’s continuous efforts in promoting a research-driven innovation culture, startup acceleration, incubation support, and intellectual property creation, positioning Swami Vivekanand Subharti University as an emerging hub for innovation-led entrepreneurship and technology commercialization in India.
