Department of Physical Education Organizes Expert Talk on “Career Guidance Opportunities in the Field of Sports Sciences”
The Department of Physical Education, Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University successfully organized an Expert Talk on “Career Guidance Opportunities in the Field of Sports Sciences” on 14 May 2026 at the Seminar Hall, Faculty of Education. The programme was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among students regarding emerging career opportunities, professional pathways, and higher education prospects in the field of sports sciences and physical education.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Manju Adhikari, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Physical Education, who felicitated the distinguished Resource Person, Dr. Awadesh Shukla, Assistant Professor, Lucknow University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, by presenting a ceremonial shawl (Padtka) and a sapling as a token of respect and gratitude.
The expert talk was successfully coordinated under the convenorship of Dr. Deepak Raghav, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education, whose dedicated efforts contributed significantly towards the smooth and successful conduct of the programme. Faculty members of the department were also present during the session and actively supported the event.
During the session, Dr. Awadesh Shukla delivered an insightful and motivational lecture focusing on diverse career opportunities available in the field of sports sciences, physical education, fitness, sports management, coaching, sports psychology, sports nutrition, physiotherapy, wellness industries, research, and sports analytics. The resource person elaborated on the growing scope of sports sciences at national and international levels and highlighted the increasing demand for skilled professionals in the sports industry.
The lecture also emphasized the importance of higher education, professional certifications, research orientation, communication skills, and practical experience for building successful careers in sports-related fields. Students were guided regarding competitive examinations, government and private sector opportunities, entrepreneurship, and emerging technological advancements in sports sciences.
Interactive discussions and question-answer sessions enabled students to clarify their doubts related to career planning, specialization areas, employability, and professional development. Practical examples and career guidance shared during the session made the programme highly informative and inspiring for the participants.
Approximately 55 students enthusiastically attended the expert talk and gained valuable insights regarding future opportunities and career development in sports sciences. The programme proved highly beneficial in enhancing students’ professional awareness, career preparedness, and motivation towards higher learning and skill development.
