Department of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, organized an Alumni Expert Lecture on 7 January 2026 on the theme “Teaching Beyond Borders: Challenges, Growth and Opportunities.” The programme aimed to expose students to global perspectives in the field of education.

The programme commenced with an expression of gratitude to the Honourable Vice Chancellor, Chief Executive Officer, and the Alumni Trust of the University. This was followed by lamp lighting and sapling offering by the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Lieutenant Professor Sandeep Kumar, Head of the Department, Prof. Indira Singh, and other faculty members, marking the formal inauguration of the event.

Lieutenant Professor Sandeep Kumar addressed the gathering and motivated students to prepare themselves for opportunities in the global teaching profession. Subsequently, Prof. Indira Singh explained the objective and significance of the programme, emphasizing the evolving role of teachers in contemporary education.

The keynote speaker of the lecture was Ms. Nitisha Raj Talluri, an alumna of the Department of Education who completed her B.Ed. from Swami Vivekanand Subharti University and is presently working as a teacher in Canada. During her lecture, she shared her extensive international teaching experiences and provided valuable insights into global educational practices.

Ms. Talluri highlighted key areas such as behaviour analysis, emotional regulation, educational neuroscience, inclusive education, and applied behaviour analysis. She described teaching as a responsible and sensitive profession and stressed that teachers must be lifelong learners. She encouraged educators to view challenges as opportunities for continuous professional growth.

She further emphasized the importance of emotional regulation for teachers to maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment. She also underlined the need to encourage students to become independent learners, fostering self-reliance and critical thinking skills.

An interactive question-and-answer session followed the lecture, during which students actively participated and clarified their queries. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Anoj Raj, after which the Dean felicitated the keynote speaker in appreciation of her contribution.

The lecture was organized and coordinated by Dr. Rubi, who is the General Secretary of the Alumni Trust, Alumni In-charge of the Department of Education, and also anchored the programme.

All faculty members and students of the Department of Education were present on the occasion. The lecture proved to be highly informative, inspiring, and enriching for all participants.
