Basketball Competition Men’s Category 2025
Open Basketball Competition Men’s Category 2025 was organized on 7-9 March 2025 by Major Dhyanchand Physical Education Department of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University at Major General Mohan Singh Sports Ground. A total of 17 teams participated in this competition, Subharti A, Rewari, SVP University, Knowledge Baller, St. Thomas Seniors, Subharti B, Hansraj, Nehru World School, Young Blood, Defender, Mango Masti, Brown Bowlers, 23 Rajput, Afro Players, Rajputana Rifles, Weekend Balance, Kulwant Colors, Skill Junction. The team was being represented by a national level player as the captain of each team. The competition was organized under the direction of program coordinator Mr. Shubham Rathi. Dr. Atul Sinha, Regional Sports Officer Meerut was present as the chief guest at the time of the inaugural of the competition. Lieutenant Professor Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Dean of Education Faculty and Head of Physical Education Department welcomed the chief guest Dr. Atul Singh by giving a sapling, Patka and memento. Dr. Krishnamurthy, Executive Officer Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Pradeep Singh Tomar, Uttar Pradesh Senior Basketball Team Coach, Shri Virendra Singh Rathi, Sub Inspector, Uttar Pradesh Police were also present among us as guests. In this competition, the final match was played between Swami Vivekanand Subharti University and Kulwant Killers in which Swami Vivekanand Subharti University won with a score of 84-82. The winning team was awarded a cash prize of ₹21000 and a trophy, and the runner-up team was awarded a cash prize of ₹11000 and a trophy. The best player award of the tournament was given to Nikhil Baliyan, In which he was presented with a sum of ₹2100 as a prize. In the closing ceremony of the competition, Dr. Virendra Singh from Meerut College, Meerut was present among us as the chief guest and as guests were Major General Dr. G.K. Thapliyal, Vice Chancellor, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Dr. Barkha Bhardwaj, SRDA Girls PG College Hathras, Sachin Sharma Delhi Basketball Team Coach, Ravindra Ahlawat Inspector Income Tax Department, Vishal Gupta International Basketball Player, Rachit Singh International Basketball Player were present. The chief guest and all the guests were welcomed by Lieutenant Professor Dr. Sandeep Kumar by presenting a sapling, Patka and a memento. The program was conducted by Mr. Kapil Shakya, Physical Education Department. All the teachers of the Physical Education Department played an important role in making this competition a success.
