One Day Seminar on the occasion of “International Day for Biological Diversity ” was held at Faculty of Science, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut on 23.05.2022. The program started with lamp lightening and Saraswati Vandana by Honorable the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Maj Gen (Dr.) G.K. Thapliyal, SM (Retd.) and Dean of the college Prof. (Dr.) Mahavir Singh and all the dignitaries.
In the program the keynote speaker Prof. (Dr.) Amar P. Garg, Vice-Chancellor of Shobhit University, Meerut delivered a lecture on the importance of biodiversity and emphasized planting different types of fruit trees. Honorable Rajesh Kumar, D.F.O. Meerut (IFS) made the students pledge to plant trees on the occasion of their birthdays and encouraged them to protect the environment. Mohammad Shahnawaz Khan, Associate Coordinator (WWF, India) apprised the students about the conservation of Dolphins, Alligators, and other aquatic creatures in the Ganges river.
Along with the faculties, HODs of different departments of the Faculty of Science and students, Dr. Sandeep Chaudhary, Dean, Education College, Dr. Manoj Kapil, Dean, Engineering College, Dr. Anoj Raj, Head of Department, Education College, and Dr. Mukesh Ruhela, Head of Environmental Engineering department (SITE) and were also present in the program. The convener of the program was Dr. Shashi Bala and the co-conveners were Dr. Faheem Ahamad and Dr. Nisha Rana. The program ended with a formal vote of thanks by the Dean, Faculty of Science, congratulating all the participants, organizers, and team. The entire teaching and non-teaching staff and students of the Faculty of Science contribute fully to making the program a great success.
