The Department of Fashion and Textile Design, Faculty of Fine Arts organized the year’s most anticipated event, “DESIGN CASTLE 2022” on April 4, 2022. In light of this, the college held a 5-day modelling session from March 29th to April 2nd, during which renowned choreographer Mr. Kapil Gauhri prepared students for the ramp walk. Students profited from the workshop, and confidence-boosting and general personality development were the keen motives. The event drew around 100 students from several university institutions. The evening’s notable visitors included Mr. Rohit Khandelwal (the first Asian to win Mr. World in 2016) and Ms. Bhoomika Vashist (of Splits villa 13 fame). Many well-known celebrities and models from all over India (Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Gurgaon, Noida, and so on) attended the event. Honorable Chancellor Mrs. Stuti Narain Kacker, Honorable Vice-Chancellor Dr. GK Thapliyal, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Abhay Shankaregowda, Principal of Fine Arts College Dr. Pintu Mishra, and Head of the Department of Fashion & Textile Design Ms. Neha Singh, along with other dignitaries, welcomed the evening’s celebrities and special guests. All of the students were ecstatic and delighted to be given the opportunity to present their design collection on the runway in front of celebrities from across the world. The event was attended by all Fashion and Textile Design department graduates and post-graduate students. The fashion show consisted of 16 rounds, with models selected from various colleges of Subharti University.
AWARDS:
- Ms. Aastha Tiwari, Mr. Abhishek Raj, and Ms. Ritika Singh from BFA’s 3rd year backed the Designer of the Year (winner) trophy.
- Mohd. Mustafa and Mohd. Firoz from BFA 4th year backed the Designer of the Year (Ist Runner up) prize.
- Syed Ziwaquar from MFD 2nd year backed the Designer of the Year (IInd Runner up) position.
