Dr. Preeti Singh, Assistant Professor of Journalism and Mass Communication presented the welcome address to the guest and participants.
Addressing the students on the occasion keynote speaker Ms. Chandrika Joshi said that journalism is a responsible profession. This is the fourth pillar of democracy. Being a radio news representative it is also a very responsible job, for which you have to work for years and have knowledge about every field. A person can only get a place in radio news and journalism only after hard work. It is a team work that presents single news. She further said that a journalist should always be alert because even though a person sleeps, this world always goes on. We should always make proper use of time and make ourselves capable so that we can move with time and when the time comes, we can move ahead of it. Further, while talking about a BBC report, she said that a news anchor gets a maximum of three seconds to choose his/her words and give direction to the news. Also, the specialty of a journalist is that they can make news of six sentences into 16 lines and news of 16 lines into 6 lines.
The eagerness for news inside a journalist should always remain there. The second most important factor in radio journalism is language. The language you use should be dignified, concise and clear. Along with this, your way of presentation should also be attractive.
In the end she said that the news should be such that expression and sentiments should not be hurt or disrespected. Also, disrespecting any community, religion or individual is never allowed in journalism.

Thaledi, Head of the Department, said that for the skill development and learning of the students, they should meet the people from the industry, which will result in practical experience.
