Dr. Ambedkar Chair, Swami Vivekananda Subharti University, Meerut Organizes a lecture on the topic “Duties foremost Rights Later” on 23.08.2024 in L.T.-1, Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law at 10:30AM onwards. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Sarika Tyagi, Associate Professor, Faculty of Law.

During the Lecture, Dr. Sarika Tyagi highlighted the values of duties in the life of individual. She said that in our constitution the Chapter No.4A was added on the basis of the recommendation of Dr. Swarn Singh committee in 1976 by the 42nd amendment of the Constitution.  Further, she told that Rights and Duties are like two sides of a coin, absolutely inseparable. Wherever we have any rights, we must have corresponding duties too. Whether it is the home, the society, the country, or College/University. In every sphere of our life, we have rights and duties that go hand in hand. We have duties in the same measure as we have rights. She told that if every person of the society does their duties properly then the rights of other people will be protected automatically. She also told that in our constitution, we have fundamental duties of the citizen.
