“Legal Awareness and Sensitization Program on Legal Service Day”
Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, in association with “District Legal Services Authority Meerut” organized an awareness and sensitization program on 09.11.23 in the Subharti Puram and Ved Vyaspuri NH-58 Meerut Subharti Law College Under the direction of Director of the Subharti Law College Mr. Rajesh Chandra (Former Justice, Prayagraj, High Court, Uttar Pradesh) and under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya, Dean, Subharti law college Meerut, Program was coordinated by Dr.Sarika Tyagi, Convener Law Club. The students were divided into 4 groups and reached Subharti Puram Meerut located on Highway No. 58 and sensitized the peoples especially the residents of Kabir das Block, Ravidas Block, Narayan guru Block and the teachers and students in the University campus. During the legal awareness survey program, students asked around 70 people about the objective of the program and told them that it is important for every citizen of India to have knowledge of his legal and fundamental rights. The objective of celebrating Legal Services Day is to provide free legal services to the people of weaker section to provide legal services to women, persons with disabilities, Scheduled Tribes, children, Scheduled Castes .The objective of Government of India and Uttar Pradesh State government to celebrate this day is for the upliftment of the marginalized class, to be informed about various schemes. Also, the objective of this awareness program is to educate people free of cost. To create awareness about legal aid and the people eligible for it. Through this survey program Common people were made aware about Providing free legal advice and services to the poorest of the poor and helpless sections of the society by the Subharti free legal aid clinic. The main objective of the campaign was to aware people that you can also file a complaint through Lok Adalat and may resolve your pending disputes through the paralegal volunteers of Subharti Law Institute. Various beneficial schemes run by the Central Government and State Government provide for the welfare of the general public. Made aware. In this awareness program Aarti Goyal, Diya, Devansh Sagar, Ayush Anand, Gaurav Paliwal, Surbhi, Aditi,Ritika, Ajay, Manik, mohd. Uvais, Kshitij etc. contributed to the program.
