Essential Newborn Care refers to the care provided to a newborn immediately after delivery, including the period from birth up to the first 24 hours of life.
A total of 105 participants were registered for the symposium. The participants included healthcare workers and ANMs (Auxiliary Nurse Midwives). The inaugural session commenced at 10:30 AM with the Lighting of the Lamp ceremony.

The welcome address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Geeta Parwanda, Principal & Dean, PDMSN, who warmly welcomed all the guests, speakers, and participants.
The inaugural session concluded, followed by the commencement of the Symposium Lecture Session. The session was initiated by Dr. Pulak, Senior Resident, CSSH, on the topic: “Promotion of Safe and Standardized Newborn Care Practices in Community Settings.” After the tea break, a theme-based role play was performed by 3rd-year GNM students, which enriched the session and effectively conveyed the importance of the theme. This was followed by a simulation drill on Essential Newborn Care, jointly conducted by the Departments of OBG and Pediatric Nursing. The simulation was led by Asst. Prof. Komal Saxena, along with active participation from other faculty members.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Ambli V. (Professor & HOD, PDMSNC). She expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the dignitaries, resource persons, faculty members, organizing team, and participants for their valuable presence and support.
Kit & Certificate Distribution
The Himalaya Baby Care Company sponsored baby care kits, and 105 kits were distributed to the participants. Offline certificates were distributed to both the resource persons and all registered participants.
