Student’s Academic Visit to “Supreme Court of India”
Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law Organized an academic visit to the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India on 16th November 2024. The visit of 37 students along with two faculty members was approved by the authorities of the Supreme Court of India and Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the University. Out of 37 total 28 students of BA.LLB. 5th year and two Faculty members visited the Supreme of India.
The visit was organized to enhance the knowledge and confidence of the students in the legal domain. During the visits the students first visited the place where a fine-looking black bronze sculpture is installed in the front of Court No.-1, in the lawn of the Supreme Court of India. The sculpture was installed on 20th February 1978. It portrays Mother India in the form of the figure of Mother and Child. The figure of a lady portraying Mother and child as a symbol of the young Republic of India which was created by renowned artist Chintamoni Kar. After that the students visited the Statue of Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi and the Father of Constitution also known as a symbol of knowledge, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Both the statue and bronze sculpture of Mother India is situated in the front of Court no. 1 of the Supreme Court of India from where the hearing of the cases is done by the bench of the Court of the Chief Justice of India. After that all the students visited the Court no.1 from where the live telecast of the hearing of the cases from the bench of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India is done. The students with both Faculty members also visited the library of the Supreme Court of India where the replica of the Constitution of India was also placed. It was told by the librarian that there are more than four places in the collection of books in the library of the Supreme Court of India. Students were also told by the librarian of the Supreme Court how the books are referred for a particular case to the Judges for the hearing of the case in digital form.
