Swami Vivekanand Chhatra Sansad–2023

The Student Council & Moot Court Association in collaboration organized the Swami Vivekananda  Chhatra Sansad–2023 on the occasion of Constitution Day of India.

This Competition was organized under Tarun Sabha, National Youth Parliament Scheme, Ministry of  Parliamentary Affairs. The Competition was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Pradeep Raghav  (Dean, Student Welfare, SVSU) & Ms. Afreen Almas (Faculty Convener of MCA), It was held from  25th November, 2023 to 26th November, 2023.

This Competition was an inter- collegiate level competition. Out of 42 registered students, 33 participated  in this Competition. The leading agendas of the competition were as follows –

  1. Requirement and redressal of issues in regard to a healthy working environment,
  2. Strengthening animal welfare laws and practices in India, and
  3. Any religious propagation by the elected political leaders should be prohibited. 

 

22nd November, 2023:-
Training -cum-workshop was conducted to explain various procedures of conducting youth parliament  sittings. It was conducted by an organizing committee.

25th November, 2023:-

  1. The programme began with a ‘Saraswati Vandana’, followed by auspicious lighting of the lamp by  guest of honor Sh. Shyam Lal, Deputy commandant RAPO (Public order Academy of MHA,GOI),  Dr. Abhay Shankaregowda, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Swami Vivekanand Subharti University) and Dr.  Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya, Dean (Faculty of Law). Thereafter Hon’ble Pro Vice Chancellor (Swami  Vivekanand Subharti University) and Sh. Shyam Lal, Deputy Commandant RAPO was welcomed  by a plant tribute given by Dr. Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya, Dean (Faculty of Law). Hon’ble Pro Vice  Chancellor motivated the students to participate in more such activities. Even Dr. Vaibhav  highlighted the benefits of such activities. Later judges of the event were introduced
  2. The anchoring was done by Palak Tyagi (Member of Student Council)-
  3. The Judges for Chhatra Sansad were:-
  • Ms. Sonal Jain(Assistant professor, SVSU) as Speaker for day 1, Mr. Shivam (Media  Advisor, National Commission for Women, GOI) as Speaker for day 2  ❖ Ms. Shivani Agarwal as Deputy Speaker (Alumna SVSU)
  • Mr. Usabh Jain as Moderator (Alumnus, SVSU)
  1. The Oath for the Speaker was done by Dr. Ashutosh Choudhary (President, student council) and  later the Speaker made all delegates take the oath.
  2. The Session for the day started with the Opening speech at 11:00A.M. and Discussion hour at 12:00  A.M. But before discussion hour started there was an obituary reference made by the Speaker about the  sad demise of 5 army personnel in Rajouri on 22nd Nov.
  3. The Discussion Hour started on the agenda- Requirement and redressal of issues in regard to a  healthy working environment.
  4. The delegates were allotted the portfolios of the Opposition party or Ruling Party.
  5. At 11:00 P.M.there was a Question Hour, where any member from the opposition party can ask  any question from the Ruling Party. The Participants participated with great enthusiasm.
  6. At 03:10 P.M., the Zero hour of 20 minutes took place where the participants discussed the issues  apart from the selected agenda.
  7. At 3:30 P.M, the session for day one ended.

 

26th November, 2023 (Constitution Day of India):- 

  1. The Session for the second day started at 10:20A.M with National Song.
  2. The ceremony, featuring the recitation of the Preamble, paid homage to the visionary architect of  the Constitution, Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
  3. The topic for the Discussion Hour was any religious propagation by the elected political leaders  should be prohibited. Every Participant came with full preparation and research.
  4. At 1:00 PM. Approximately 3 bills were presented by the members of Parliament.
  5. At 2:00 P.M. Session ended.
  6. After this, at 02:30 p.m. the Dean-Faculty of Law, Dr. Vaibhav Goyal Bhartiya felicitated  the Speaker with a memento.
  7. After this Mr. Shivam (Speaker for the day 2) encouraged and appreciated the participants. He  said – “Youth should take active part in democratic processes. This Parliament has been  organized to ignite the spirit of patriotism, sense of purpose in life. The youth should be at the vanguard of societal development. The youth here should take this idea forward and join hands  to increase awareness among people at the grass-root level.” He also stressed, “Our youth must  develop original thinking and shun the colonial mindset. He also mentioned about the women  reservation bill’s significance since constitution making.
  8. The Winners of the Competition were
  • Best Delegate – Narendra Modi – Himanshu Panwar
  • High Recommendation – Smriti Irani – Pawni Arora
  • Special Mention – Shashi Tharoor – Ekansh Dixit
  • High commendation – Asaduddin Owaisi – MD.Tanzeel
  • Best Bill – Mohua Moitra – Amina  The valedictory ceremony took place in which Pro Vice- Chancellor and the Dean (Faculty of Law)  marked their presence for the same and prize and certificates were distributed after announcement of  results.

 

9) University Student Council and MCA- Members presented a replica of the Constitution of India to  the university on the occasion of Constitution Day.

10) At last, Mrs. Afreen Almas (Faculty convener) gave a vote of thanks.
