A one-day workshop on Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) was successfully conducted at Jyotirao Phule Subharti College of Physiotherapy under the esteemed guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Jasmine Anandabai, Dean and Principal of the college. The session was led by the distinguished resource person Dr. Suryamani, a renowned expert in the field of Manual Therapy and Physiotherapy Techniques.
The workshop aimed to enhance the clinical skills of students and professionals by introducing them to advanced techniques in soft tissue mobilization using specialized instruments. The session included both theoretical and hands-on practical training, giving participants a comprehensive understanding of IASTM and its application in various musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Suryamani elaborated on the history, principles, and evidence-based benefits of IASTM, followed by live demonstrations and participant involvement in applying the techniques. The interactive nature of the workshop allowed attendees to clarify their doubts and gain direct experience under expert supervision. The event was attended by interns, and undergraduate students, all of whom expressed great enthusiasm and appreciation for the practical exposure provided.
