11th Annual Art Exhibition Inauguration in Department of Fine Art
Contemporary artist Sumitra Ahlawat, Vice Chancellor Major General Dr.G.K.Thapaliyal, Executive Officer Dr. Shalya Raj, and Principal Prof.Dr. Pintu Mishra inaugurated 11th Annual Art Exhibition by lighting of the lamp. Sumitra Ahlawat was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Pintu Mishra by presenting a sapling. Dr. Shalya Raj wore the emblem of honor and Vice-Chancellor Major General Dr.
G.K. Thapliyal presented a memento. The title of this annual exhibition was “Art for Art’s Sake”. In which the works of teachers as well as students of B.F.A., M.F.A., and Ph.D. were also displayed. In this exhibition organized at Raja Ravi Verma Art Gallery, along with paintings, sculptures and photography, the works of Sanghamata Dr. Mukti Bhatnagar were also highly appreciated by the audience. The catalogue of the exhibition was also unveiled on this occasion. Regarding this exhibition, Head of Department Prof.
Dr. Pooja Gupta told that every year the department has been showcasing the works of the students in the form of Annual Art Exhibition. This year’s theme has been kept Art for Art’s Sake, in which all the artists have brought their self-expression on the canvas, while in photography, along with different aspects of the society, nature has also been captured in the camera. Sculpture students displayed satirical works on contemporary society. Principal Prof. Dr. Pintu Mishra told that the students and teachers of the department are engaged in doing art and artistic works with full devotion. This year the students of Fine Art have also won the National Award. Which shows his skill.
Vice-Chancellor Major General Dr.G.K.Thapaliyal praised the department and the Faculty of Fine Arts and termed the Faculty of Fine Arts as one of the topmost faculties of the University. Executive Officer Dr. Shalya Raj appreciated the works of the students and said that new artists have been being produced in the Department of Fine Arts. The University is proud of them. Expressing gratitude to all, chief guest artist Ms.
Sumitra Ahlawat praised the university and the Raja Ravi Verma art gallery and said that such an art gallery where paintings, sculptures and other arts were not seen anywhere else together on one floor. The amazing work of the students is visible. Teachers and students of other departments of the University were also present in this annual exhibition. Shri Krishna Kumar, Dr. Ashun Srivastava, Dr. Vandana Tomar, Lucky Tyagi, Satyendra, Ashish, Sunny, Pawanendra Tiwari, Dharamraj etc.
