Awareness Lecture on “Empowered Women, Empowered Society”

An awareness lecture on the theme “Empowered Women, Empowered Society” was successfully organized by Maharishi Aurobindo Subharti College & Hospital of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences, under Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

The program was conducted on 10th March 2026 (Tuesday) from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at LT-4, Naturopathy and Yoga College Building. The objective of the lecture was to spread awareness about the importance of women’s empowerment, gender equality, and the vital role women play in the development of society.

The session began with a brief introduction about the significance of celebrating International Women’s Day and the need to empower women in every sphere of life, including education, healthcare, leadership, and social development.

The resource person for the session was Dr Seema Dixit, Associate Professor, who delivered an insightful and motivating lecture on the topic. She emphasised that women’s empowerment is not only about giving rights to women but also about creating opportunities that enable them to grow intellectually, socially, and economically. She highlighted the role of education, self-confidence, health awareness, and social support in strengthening women’s position in society.

Dr Dixit also discussed various challenges faced by women, such as gender discrimination, lack of opportunities, and social barriers. She encouraged the students to become confident, independent, and aware individuals who can contribute positively to society. The lecture inspired students to understand their potential and take active roles in personal and professional development.

Objectives of the Program

  1. To create awareness among students about the importance of women’s empowerment in social, educational, and professional fields.
  2. To highlight the role of women in building a strong, progressive, and sustainable society.
  3. To encourage female students to develop confidence, leadership qualities, and self-reliance.
  4. To educate participants about gender equality, women’s rights, and opportunities available for their growth and development.
  5. To inspire young women to overcome social barriers and contribute actively to community and national development.
  6. To promote respect and recognition for the achievements and contributions of women in different sectors.
  7. To motivate students to support and advocate for an inclusive and empowering environment for women in society.

The program was coordinated by Dr Jyoti Madhur, Assistant Professor, who ensured the smooth organisation of the event. All female BNYS and MD students actively participated in the session and showed keen interest in the discussion. The lecture created a platform for interaction where students could reflect on the importance of equality, leadership, and empowerment.

The event concluded with a message emphasising that empowering women ultimately leads to the empowerment of families, communities, and the nation as a whole. The session proved to be informative, inspiring, and meaningful for all participants.

Overall, the awareness lecture was a successful initiative that reinforced the importance of women’s empowerment and encouraged students to contribute towards building a more equal and progressive society.
