 Guest lecture and Talk on  Home Science: Where Passion Meets Profession

The Council for Allied and Healthcare Professionals recently organized a Guest lecture at Swami Vivekanand University in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The lecture aimed to provide Home Science students with a comprehensive understanding of the various career opportunities available in the fields of nutrition and dietetics, as well as its associated sub-branches.

Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Department of Home Science organised a guest lecture and Health talk on 14.09.2023. The lecture and talk were delivered by two distinguished guest speakers – Dr. Nicky Dabas, Director of the Council for Allied and Healthcare Professionals, and Dr. Somiran Ghosal, Head of the Naturopathy Department at CAHP. Dr. Dabas and Dr. Ghosal.

The lecture focused on the future of human resource development in Home Science and its sub-branches, including topics such as food and nutrition, dietetics, applied nutrition in community health, nutrition in healthcare throughout the life cycle, and nutrition for clinical care.

Their insightful presentations and engaging discussions on various aspects of Home Science left the audience thoroughly enlightened and inspired.

The event drew a diverse audience, including students, faculty members, and professionals from various backgrounds. Attendees had the opportunity to interact with the guest speakers during the Q&A session, enhancing their understanding of the subject and gaining valuable insights.

Dr. Shalu Nehra, Assistant professor, and convener of the guest lecture at SVSU, the driving force behind this intellectually stimulating event, expressed her gratitude to guest speakers for their invaluable contributions.

Dr. Nishma Singh, Head of the Home Science Department, SVSU delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, making this event a resounding success, while the program was skilfully anchored by Ms. Akshita Gupta and Ms. Aashi Sharma, Students of M.Sc. Human Development.

Furthermore, the Council for Allied and Healthcare Professionals announced a novel support system for university students and professionals interested in starting small-scale businesses.

All faculty members and students of the department attended the lecture and talked very enthusiastically.
