Department of Fashion, Textile, and Interior Design of Nandlal Bose Subharti College of Fine Arts & Fashion Design in association with Janhit Foundation (an NGO based in Meerut) took an initiative and organized an Institutional Social Responsibility “Sharing and Caring: Clothes Distribution Activity” on October 20, 2022. The Drive duration was from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Faculty members Dr. Neha Singh (Head Of Department), Dr. Arpana, Ms. AnishaAnand, MsAbhilasha, Ms. Monika, Ms. Shailja, Mr, KrishanKundara, Mr. Abhishek Kumar and Mr. Dharamraj have done this social activity along with volunteers, Prof. (Dr.) Pintu Mishra, the college’s Principal and Dean encouraged all of the students and teachers to do such social activities. The purpose of this activity is to provide clothes to the needy and poor Children, Families of labour’s colony of Swami VivekanandSubharti University.
The Volunteers started this activity with daily follow-up in all the departments of the college. Volunteers collected the clothes from those who wished to contribute to this activity for a good cause. There was an overwhelming response from Teaching, Non – Teachingstaffand students. Volunteers took sincere efforts in collecting all the clothes and segregated them per age group. Thus totally of 20 volunteers along with faculty members actively participated in this Drive. The students were very enthusiastic about the drive as they were happy after experiencing the cheerful and happy faces of the children in the tribal community. The workers accepted all the clothes without any grudging which were distributed by Volunteers.
On the whole, the drive was very fruitful for the workers. As a result, they appeared very much positive and supportive of the programme when they witnessed sympathy and painstaking efforts for children. They also thanked and appreciated all the Volunteers and Programme coordinators for taking the initiative in these regards and for their Concern for the workers.
