National Education Day
On National Education Day 11th November 2024, the Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Department of Home Science organized an impactful event at Ishwar Chand Vidyasagar School, SVSU, coordinated by Ms. Urvashi Sharma. This celebration aimed to raise awareness about the value of education and inspire a strong commitment to lifelong learning. The event kicked off with a session introducing the significance of National Education Day, emphasizing the importance of education in personal growth and societal progress. Both students and faculty participated enthusiastically, setting a positive tone for the activities to follow.
The students were also introduced to notable teachers from history who championed the cause of education. Their stories of dedication and passion for learning served as inspiring examples for the young attendees, instilling in them a sense of pride in educational heritage.
Engaging activities, such as poem recitations and alphabet practice, were held, giving students an opportunity to express themselves confidently while reinforcing their learning. In addition, an essential session on “Good Touch and Bad Touch” educated students on personal safety, boundaries, and recognizing inappropriate situations, thus empowering them with knowledge crucial for their safety. The event concluded with the distribution of pencils as tokens of encouragement, a gesture meant to remind students of the importance of education and their potential to grow through learning.
The success of this event was made possible by the strong support of Dr. Nishma Singh, Head of Department, along with co-faculty Dr Shruti Pokheriyal. Additionally, the cooperation of School Principal Mrs. Kiran and her dedicated staff was instrumental in the smooth execution of the program. This National Education Day celebration effectively fostered an appreciation for learning and served as a powerful reminder of the transformative impact of education on individuals and communities alike.
