Cyber Security Workshop Organized by the Department of Languages, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Swami Vivekanand Subharti University
The Department of Languages, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, in collaboration with the Bhartendu: Literary and Cultural Club, successfully conducted a Cyber Security Workshop on November 11, 2024, under the Mission Shakti initiative. This event marked another milestone in the University’s efforts to empower women and promote gender equality, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 5.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness about cyber threats and equip participants, especially female students, with practical tools to safeguard their online presence. Topics covered included identifying and mitigating online risks such as phishing, fraud, and identity theft, best practices for maintaining digital security and addressing women’s gender-specific challenges in cyberspace. Dr. Manisha Luthra and Dr. Rajeswar Pal providing detailed insights on safe online behaviour, secure communication, and methods to prevent cybercrimes. Participants also learned about the legal frameworks available to combat cybercrimes and the process for reporting incidents.
The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty, including Dr. Rafat Khanam, Dr. Rajeswar Pal, Dr. Manisha Luthra, Dr. Ranveer, Dr. Ashish, Dr. Nishi Raghav, Dr. Anuj Bawara, Dr. Farha Hashmi, and Ms. Swati Sharma. Students from the Department of Languages, along with representatives of the Bhartendu: Literary and Cultural Club, attended the event, showcasing their dedication to the center’s mission.
The workshop concluded with participants expressing their appreciation for the initiative, calling it a vital step toward ensuring a secure and inclusive digital environment. Swami Vivekanand Subharti University remains committed to creating platforms that empower women and foster a culture of safety and equality within academic and digital spaces.
Objectives of the Workshop

Address the unique challenges faced by women in cyberspace and provide practical strategies for secure online engagement and communication. - To Equip Participants with Cybersecurity Tools
Offer practical insights and tools to identify, mitigate, and prevent cybercrimes, empowering participants to safeguard their digital presence effectively. - To Provide Knowledge of Legal Frameworks
Familiarize participants with the legal mechanisms available for combating cybercrimes and guide them on how to report incidents effectively. - To Foster a Culture of Digital Responsibility
Encourage responsible digital behavior among students and faculty, promoting an inclusive and safe online environment that aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 5.
