DAY-2 Title:
Embracing Technological Advancements

The Department of Languages under the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, is committed to fostering academic excellence and professional development among its faculty members. With this commitment, the department has been organizing a ‘Faculty Development Program’ from July 16 to July 22, 2024.

On the second day, July 17, 2024, the theme was “Embracing Technological Advancements.” The program was led by Prof. A.P. Garg, Dean of Research at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, and Ms. Gunjan Jain, Librarian at the National Law Institute, Delhi.

Prof. A.P. Garg discussed ‘Research Methodology,’ emphasizing that it is a systematic and organized approach to conducting research. It includes the procedures, methods, and techniques used to collect and analyse data, forming the framework within which research is conducted. Methodology provides a framework for the systematic investigation of a research problem and ensures that research results are valid and reliable. Various educational institutions develop it for their teachers to enhance their skills, enabling them to teach their students better. Through the FDP program, teachers receive training in the latest teaching techniques, curriculum development, student-related issues, and pedagogy.

Dr. Seema Sharma said that the Faculty Development Program is designed for the teachers, with the primary goal of enhancing their skills and strengthening their teaching capabilities. The aim of this program is to provide teachers with training in the latest teaching processes, specializations, and student-related topics. In line with this commitment, we propose establishing a Faculty Development Program (FDP) designed to enhance the teaching, research, and service capacities of our faculty. This program aims to provide development opportunities, enrich the academic environment, and improve student outcomes.

Ms. Gunjan Jain emphasized the importance of integrity in research publications, stating that accuracy and reliability must be adhered to the published research work. Integrity means that the research has been conducted with credibility, dedication, and consistency, ensuring that experts and readers receive accurate and verified information. To maintain integrity in research publications, key elements such as experimentation, evidence, testing, and analytical precision are prioritized. This ensures that the information presented in publications is accurate and reliable.

Program coordinator Dr. Seema Sharma ensured seamless coordination and supervision of the event. Co-coordinator Dr. Manisha Luthra provided essential support throughout the program. Committee members Dr. Rafat Khanam, Prof. Rajeshwar Pal, Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Swati Sharma, Dr. Ranveer Singh, and Dr. Farha Hashmi played significant roles in executing various aspects of the event. Their collective efforts ensured that each aspect was well-planned and effectively executed, contributing to the overall success of the FDP.

Ms. Swati Sharma efficiently conducted the program, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Seema Sharma, Head of the Department of Languages. She expressed gratitude to the speakers, participants, and organizing committee for their invaluable contributions and dedication to promoting academic excellence and professional development. The day -2 of FDP was concluded with the desire to learn new things on the third day.
