“One Week Orientation Program”
Sardar Patel Subharti Law Institute, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut Under the direction of Director of the Subharti Law College Mr. Rajesh Chandra (Former Justice, Prayagraj, High Court, Uttar Pradesh) and under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya, Dean, Faculty of Law, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut. A One Week orientation program was organized for the newly admitted first year students for batch 2023. The program was coordinated by Dr. Sarika Tyagi, Associate Professor, Subharti Institute of Law, Meerut. The main objective of the program is to acquaint the newly admitted students with the various authorities of the College of Law, the traditions of the college, and the best practices. Apart from this, it also included the removal of bad practices like ragging from the minds of the students. On first day the program was initiated by Prof. (Dr.) Vaibhav Goyal Bhartiya, Dean, Faculty of Law by Welcoming the students of batch 2023 after that he told that the field of law is very vast, to achieve success, you have to make continuous and hard efforts and he also congratulate them to choose the right profession and institution. The orientation program was inaugurated by Justice Rajesh Chandra and the newly admitted law students by lighting the lamp in front of the Maa Saraswati. Thereafter, he introduced the newly admitted students about the traditions of the college and also introduced them with the Director of Sardar Patel Subharti Law Institute, Justice Rajesh Chandra and also acquainted them with other faculty members of the college. Thereafter Shri Rajesh Chandra, director of Subharti Law Institute, encouraged the students by saying that you are welcome in this field and to get success in the field of law you have to do continuous study and on the basis of that study you will surely get success in your life and will be able to fulfill your parents as well as your own dreams.
After that the students were explained in detail by Prof. (Dr.) Reena Bishnoi about the various committees and the authorities of the University, their role and about the working of the committees such as ICC, Women empowerment ,Sports, Cultural, Welfare, Grievances etc. After that a team of Ms. Shalini Goel and Mr. Mayank Sharma made aware to the students about the various places of the Universities by visiting the campus and the buildings etc known by the name of freedom fighters. On the second day Students were made aware of the College Committee and their work such as examinations, academics, sports, cultural, Wellness, Grievance, MCA, Literary Club, and Law Club etc. The session was taken by Ms. Afreen Almas Assistant Professor and after that a quiz on General Awareness and Legal General Knowledge was organized by Ms. Mansi & Mr. Himanshu Panwar students of B.A.LL.B. Final year and after that on third day Lecture on Basics of Indian Constitution was taken by Mr. Ajay Raj Singh There after a lecture on positive mental health and well being was held session was taken by Dr. Seema Sharma Clinical Psychologist in which she shared her experience and counsel the students regarding positive attitude in life and be stress free. After that a lecture on Course Information was taken by Dr. Sarika Tyagi.
The fourth day session started with the Career Counseling session taken by Mr. Nitin Lion, Law Associate, Luthra & Luthra Company & also an alumnus of Subharti Law College. Where he explained the future aspect in the Law Profession especially in the Aviation sector. Thereafter the session of extempore/ Just a Minute was organized and taken by Dr. Rafat Khan to express the views of the students and to reduce the stage and presentation phobia from the students. And after that the Fun Games were organized by Ms. Afreen Almas & Ms. Ana Sisodia (Assistant Professor’s) Subharti Law College. Where students enjoyed the fun games a lot Musical chair, Passing the pass, Dart game, find the differences games were arranged for the students.
On the Fifth Day Lecture on legal luminaries was organized by Ms. Afreen Almas, after that how to make memorial and case comment was held. Where they were able to know how they can prepare Memorial & Case Comment. Thereafter a session was taken by Justice Rajesh Chandra Sir in the Library where he explained the importance of legal dictionaries and Journals in the Law Profession. On Last Day of orientation Lecture on Duties foremost and rights later was organized and taken by Dr. Reena Bishnoi after that a lecture on how to use online tools was taken by Dr. Prem Chandra and after that a lecture was taken by Dr. Shashi Raj Teotia, Chief Proctor of the University and thereafter Mr. Mayank Sharma told about anti ragging and an online undertaking as to be submitted by the students. Thereafter a closing ceremony was held which was coordinated by Ms. Palak Tyagi, Student of B.A.LL.B. Second Year. Firstly she briefed about the activities held in one week for students after that she requested students to share their view about these days. Out of the students some students named Akshdeep Kaur, Kasturi Arya, Lavi Malik, Siddhant Patel etc. shared their experience and views. After that Prof. (Dr.) Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya, Dean Faculty of Law encouraged students to initiate in all activities and follow the rules and discipline of the college and university and also to work with full passion and positive attitude towards your profession. After that blessings were given by Director Subharti Law College , sh. Rajesh Chandra (Former Justice, Prayagraj, High Court, Uttar Pradesh)said that get success in your life and raise the name of your family and institution in the world. Thereafter a vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Sarika Tyagi and at the end tea and snacks were arranged for the students.
