Subharti Design Students Excel in International Exchange Program at HSE University, Russia
Students from the Textile and Interior Design Department of the Nandlal Bose Subharti College of Fine Arts and Fashion Design at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University have returned from a successful student week at HSE University in St. Petersburg, Russia. Harman Kaur and Arbaaz Ilahi, both in their second year of B.Sc. Interior Design, and Gul Mohammad, a first-year B.Sc. Textile Design students were among 16 outstanding individuals selected from major Indian universities for this fully funded program.
From June 10-17, the students participated in a rigorous academic program that included special classes on printmaking techniques such as linocut. Under the guidance of esteemed HSE professors, they gained advanced skills and insights into global design methodologies. The program also offered a rich cultural immersion in St. Petersburg, enhancing their understanding of the city’s history and contemporary lifestyle, greatly contributing to their overall learning experience.
Upon completion of the exchange, students were awarded certificates recognizing their participation and achievements. This international recognition not only enhances their academic credentials but also underscores the importance of global academic exchange in promoting innovation and intercultural collaboration.
Reflecting on the experience, Harman Kaur said, “The opportunity to learn printmaking and linocut from HSE professors was incredibly enlightening. This experience has significantly broadened our creative and academic horizons.”
Vice-Chancellor Major General (Dr.) G.K.
