Workshop on DIY Home Décor and Accessory Design

The Department of Interior Design at Nandalal Bose Subharti College of Fine Arts and Fashion Design recently hosted an engaging workshop on “DIY Home Décor and Accessory Design.” Held on March 14th, 2024, the workshop aimed to provide students with practical skills and inspiration in crafting personalized home décor items and accessories.
Under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Pintu Mishra, Dean and Principal of the Faculty of Fine Arts, the workshop was led by Dr. Neha Singh, Head of the Fashion, Textile, and Interior Design Department, and coordinated by Er. Shailja Sindhay, the event featured esteemed resource person Miss Ratika Jain, a Freelancer and Expert Teacher in Pidilite. A total of 60 students participated in the workshop and Miss Jain guided participants through a diverse array of traditional and non-traditional art and craft techniques, including raisin art, decoupage, bottle art, Madhubani art, Mithila art, and more.

With the support of dedicated faculty members: Ar. Reena Roy, Er. Monika Verma, Dr. Arpana Kamboj, Dr. Meenakshi Tamta, Miss Sradha Yadav, Miss Anisha Aanand, Miss Saumya Sharma, and Miss Anshu Singhal, students actively engaged in hands-on activities and discussions. They gained valuable insights into different materials, colors, and patterns used in creating aesthetically pleasing home décor items and accessories.
