Workshop on Sculpture by
International Sculptor at Subharti Fine Art
It was organized from 6 February 2024 to 16 February 2024 under the aegis of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Swami Vivekananda Subharti University. In which Danish Ambassador Mr. Faddy Swe was the special guest. The workshop started by introducing fine arts students to the intricacies of sculpture techniques in the form of a lecture by Denmark’s famous sculptor Lene Rigntved Thordarsen. Through live models, all the students were given demonstrations and taught different procedures. Under the direction of artist Lynne Rigntved Thordarson, students created sculptures from different directions using clay while watching live models. Enthusiasm was seen among all the students and teachers of the department.
Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Major General GK Thapliyal ji encouraged and praised all the students.
Executive Officer Dr. Shalya Raj ji called such workshops useful and encouraged their creativity in such high quality works.
Prof. (Dr.) Pintu Mishra of the department said that such international workshops should be organized regularly so that the students of art field can have knowledge of various techniques used at the international level and can get their experience from famous artists of India and abroad. And by knowing directly about the working style, one can become its participant. And during the workshop, Head of the Department, Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Gupta praised the sculpture done in the workshop and told about the quality and importance of the workshop.
Dr. Vandana Tomar, Mr. Dharamraj Gupta, Dr. Anshu Srivastava, Lucky Tyagi contributed in making the entire workshop successful.
In the 15-day workshop, students’ knowledge was enhanced by coordinated study of Indian and Western craftsmanship and exchange of time. And Naresh Thapliyal Advisor International Affairs also had an important contribution.
